Founded in 1987 in Houston, Texas by the three Serna Brothers, El Palenque has been a pioneer in the Houston full-service Mexican casual dining segment. Nearly four decades on, it is one of the best known Mexican restaurant brands in the Houston area — and still run by the same family.

Where is El Palenque Mexican Restaurant located?
El Palenque has two locations in the Houston area: our original Spring restaurant at 1485 Spring Cypress Rd, Spring, TX 77373, and our Tomball Parkway location at 21161 Tomball Pkwy, Houston, TX 77070. Both serve authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex food daily.
What are the opening hours at El Palenque?
Both the Spring and Tomball locations are open Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM. We are open daily for dine-in and takeout.
Does El Palenque offer Mexican food catering in Houston?
Yes. We offer full-service Mexican food catering for conferences, business meetings, weddings and special events in Houston, Spring and Tomball. We deliver and arrange a buffet line for your guests.
Does El Palenque offer takeout and delivery?
Yes. Both locations are open daily for dine-in and takeout. You can order from our full menu or our party packs. Delivery is available for catering orders placed at least 3 hours in advance.
What kind of food does El Palenque serve?
El Palenque serves authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex favorites including sizzling fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, burritos, ceviche, seafood, margaritas and a full kids menu. We have been serving the Houston area since 1987.
Does El Palenque have a patio and cantina?
Yes. Both locations feature a cantina and a patio. The Tomball Parkway location has a spacious remodeled patio and dining room, good for family dining and meeting friends for margaritas.
Do you take reservations for large parties?
We welcome walk-ins and usually have ample seating. For large parties or special events we recommend calling ahead. Spring: (281) 353-4055. Tomball: (281) 376-6960.
Is there a kids menu available?
Yes. Our El Nino menu is $6.95 for children 11 and under and includes a soft drink — enchiladas, crispy tacos, quesadillas, chimis and more.
